Exploring Da Vinci’s Visionary Mind

The exhibition is designed to immerse visitors in the world of Leonardo da Vinci, combining cutting-edge technology with artistic storytelling. It is structured into several chapters, each exploring different dimensions of Da Vinci’s creations:

Da Vinci’s Thoughts: This chapter invites visitors to delve into Leonardo’s visionary mind. It includes subchapters such as “The Visionary Artist – Mona Lisa,” where the public can discover the subtleties of Da Vinci’s sfumato technique and its reflection of human emotions; “The Anatomist – Vitruvian Man,” which explores human proportions and the relationship between science and art; “The Engineer – Flying Machines,” showcasing Da Vinci’s visionary inventions inspired by bird flight; “The Scientist – The Study of Water,” examining his observations on fluid dynamics; and “The Legacy – The Last Supper,” highlighting this masterpiece as a synthesis of his work.

The City of the Future: Inspired by Da Vinci’s sketches, this chapter envisions a future city where his inventions and visions come to life. It emphasizes his passion for engineering, urbanism, and innovation.

Da Vinci’s Workshop: The final chapter offers a glimpse into Da Vinci’s creative space, allowing visitors to witness the process behind some of humanity’s most remarkable inventions.

A Modern Renaissance Experience

“Da Vinci, The Immersive Show” is more than just an exhibition; it is an experience that transcends time and space. The MINA Studios team has crafted an event beyond Da Vinci’s iconic works, exploring the depth of a mind dedicated to knowledge in all its forms. This exhibition is a tribute to Da Vinci’s legacy, offering audiences an experience inspired by curiosity, rigour, and vision.

Plan Your Visit

“Da Vinci, The Immersive Show” tickets are available on the official MINA Museum website. Don’t miss this chance to explore the genius of Leonardo da Vinci in a way that blends art, science, and technology in the heart of Bucharest.

Famous artists from Romania and other countries will encourage art lovers to be passionate about contemporary art.

The second edition of MoBU highlights artists and works from Germany, Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine. Additionally, we have invited art faculties from Bucharest, Cluj, Iași, and Timișoara to showcase themselves and the future of contemporary art, resulting in this year’s event’s hybrid nature. Although different from 2023, we still hope to find the right formula to connect the Romanian public with the art market. Since contemporary art invites conceptualization and reflection, I invite you to MoBU to discover art in another dimension.
Demetra Arapu, Director of MoBU

A work made by famous Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi in 1905-1906, “Bust of a Restaurant Patron (Portrait of Achille Baldé),” is arriving for the first time in Romania and will be available exclusively at the Artmark Galleries. It is about “a work that has never been seen, (being) considered lost or destroyed.”

A Romanian collector recently awarded the sculpture at an international auction in Paris.

The unveiling event and the first meeting with the public of this work will take place on Saturday, February 17, at Palatul Cesianu-Racoviță from 4 p.m., in the presence of Mrs. Doina Lemny, Parisian art historian and researcher specializing in the work of the sculptor Constantin Brâncusi and one of the most famous exegetes of the work of the great artist, on an extraordinary visit to Romania.

Mrs. Doina Lemny will hold, on this particular occasion, a conference in which she will detail little-known aspects of the artist’s biography and the circumstances of the creation of this work considered lost. “Brâncusi Exclusiv,” an exhibition that will be open to the public until February 25 and can be visited daily, from Monday to Sunday, between 10:00 and 20:00.

Brâncusi National Day every year involves an evocation of the artist’s personality who has become a symbol of Romanian creativity. But it rarely happens that we bring to the public’s attention a work that has never been seen. This year, Artmark presents an entirely new work, considered lost or destroyed – as the artist used to do. So far, a single photograph from the English collector David Grob’s collection has been represented so far, presented in the Brâncusi exhibition in Timișoara – “Romanian sources and universal perspectives.
Doina Lemny for Artmark

“Bust of a Restaurant Patron (Portrait of Achille Baldé)” is one of the last works made by the sculptor in the Impressionist manner, under the influence of his then master Auguste Rodin, before he began, in 1907, to carve directly in stone. This bust also appears in the photos from Constantin Brâncuși’s workshop in Dauphine Square no. 16 from Paris.

The sculpture depicts a male portrait sporting an impressive moustache à la française and was long known as the ‘Portrait of M.G.’ out of some confusion. It is, in fact, the portrait of Achille Baldé, a waiter in the cafe where Brâncuși worked as a dishwasher in the first year of his arrival in Paris. The work is reproduced in the most essential Brâncusi catalogues, after a photograph kept at the Pompidou Center.

It is a “link” that connects the Romanian works from before the Parisian era and what followed starting from the years 1907-1908, namely ” The Prayer” and “The Goodness of the Earth,” works that paved the way for his famous modernist-abstracting masterpieces.

Adrian Ghenie, the artist of millions of euros, again in Romania. Considered by critics but also by art lovers, perhaps the best-known and best-rated contemporary Romanian artist internationally, Adrian Ghenie, returns to an auction in Romania with an expressive work.

It is an intricate “Self-Portrait” of youth (made in 2003-2004), which is available in the “Artmark Auction of Postmodern and Contemporary Art, including a charity sequence for the awarding of a scholarship to encourage the research of Romanian art,” an event that presents to the public over 200 contemporary creations and which will take place on Tuesday, February 20, from 7 p.m., both at Palatul Cesianu-Racoviță and online, on the Artmark Live platform.

The exceptional work in the auction, whose price starts at 50,000 euros, presents one of his first known self-portraits and dates from what the artist called “a strange period”, with many searches, when he emigrated to Austria and was as young as on what to give up painting.

Originally from Baia Mare, Adrian Ghenie has set new sales records in recent years. His painting “Pie Fight Interior 12”, made in 2014, was recently awarded in May 2022 for €8,000,000 at an auction in Hong Kong. At profile events in Romania, his record for another compositional self-portrait (2006-2009) was registered at Artmark in December 2019 for 150,000 euros.

The new event of Casa A10 by Artmark brings together the most important Romanian postmodern artists, among which there is also a small collection of works belonging to Marcel Iancu, and also contains a charity section, in which 18 works participate. With the money raised from the sale of lots marked with a red heart, A10 by Artmark awards a scholarship to encourage the research of Romanian art.

The works participating in the “Postmodern and Contemporary Art Auction” can already be discovered both on the website dedicated to the event and in the exhibition at Cesianu-Racoviță Palace (str. C.A. Rosetti no. 5), daily, from Monday to Sunday, between 10.00 and 20.00.

This year, Christmas occurs in the world of collectible jewelry and royal gifts. Spectacular women’s fashion accessories are up for auction next week, on December 20 and 21. The auction that Artmark organizes on the occasion of the holidays, two profile auctions dedicated to gifts: iconic luxury jewelry signed by famous designers, vintage pieces of the type “Buy now, Wear forever,” and the great fashion houses of France, completed by a selection extraordinary Lalique perfumes, meet in the auctions organized on Wednesday and Thursday, from 19:00.

Wednesday brings online access to dozens of luxury precious jewels, with prices to suit any budget, from €100 to €25,000. The exceptional pendant brooch in red gold is a vintage appearance, set with three diamonds, approx. 1900. Located in the original box, the piece is currently priced at 700 euros. A few decades later, another piece de resistance was made: a rose-shaped brooch in two-tone gold and platinum decorated with diamonds, around 1960.

Tennis bracelets and necklaces top off the contemporary jewelry chapter. Registering the highest starting price in Wednesday’s auction, 25,000 euros, a valuable tennis necklace in white gold decorated with 88 diamonds stands out.

Emeralds make a spectacular fusion with diamonds in three exceptional lots, including a complete set of earrings, pendants and rings, estimated between 8,000 and 12,000 euros. Another auction treasure is a superb gold ring, centrally decorated with a large emerald, surrounded by 48 diamonds, which starts at 15,000 euros.

The most affordable piece of jewelry in Wednesday’s timed online auction is a silver ring decorated with topaz and multi-coloured tourmalines at just 100 euros.

Next, Thursday’s auction features designer jewelry, such as the much-coveted Cartier Love bracelet in gold, which has gained global must-have status, or the iconic Van Cleef & Arpels four-leaf clover Alhambra model, launched in 1968 – present in the auction from 1,500 euros.

During Thursday’s auction at Palatul Cesianu-Racoviță, the collection of jewels is doubled by a selection of ladies’ watches, which demand admiration and good taste. Among the world’s most celebrated watch brands, Patek Philippe is up for auction with a 1975 white gold, diamond-studded watch with a starting price of €8,000, while the list price is almost double that in the profile market.

The elegance collection is complemented by the French sophistication of fashion houses Hermès, Christian Dior, Chanel and Lanvin, present in the auction with a selection of designer purses, scarves and gloves – royal accessories that cannot be missing from a clothing collection.

A rare appearance is the selection of Lalique perfumes – bearing the stamp of the extraordinary creations of the famous René Lalique, the genius of jewelry and crystal design from the Art Nouveau era – who revolutionized the design of perfume bottles. An example in the auction is the Deux Cœurs perfume, the limited edition dedicated to the eternity of shared destinies, from 2004, which can represent a perfect gift for the person you love. The perfume has a starting price in the auction of 900 euros. The 20th-anniversary edition launched in 2012 – Lalique, Sillage, is an essential specimen of the brand’s history.

The variety of the offer recommends the two auctions next week as an ideal marketplace for luxury gifts. The A10 by Artmark Auction House also offers the opportunity to try on the jewelry in the exhibition at the Cesianu-Racoviță Palace.

The Bucharest residents and foreign tourists who visit Romania’s Capital during this period have the opportunity to visit, during the week of December 4 – 8, an exhibition focused on pieces of old Romanian art, which reflects the richness of the Balkan culture of the end of the Middle Ages from the North of the Danube, Visit Bucharest announced on Tuesday, November 28. Both objects are exhibited in collections specific to the traditional Romanian space, of religious or widespread influence, and ancient ceramic pieces from our area, both Hellenistic and Roman, and from the Near East.

All objects are part of the Small Auction of Old Romanian Art and Antiquities, scheduled for Friday, December 8, 2023, at noon, exclusively on the Artmark LIVE platform.

One of the central pieces of the exhibition, moreover having the highest starting price (EUR 9,000, far below its value in a high-profile international auction), is an exceptional wine jug, dated ca. 325-310 BCE, from the classical period of Greek pottery painted with mythological scenes. The museum piece is attributed to a well-known artist (the so-called „white sakkos painter,” having works exhibited in many antiquities museums in Europe and the US), working in one of the Greek colonies in the Apulia region of southern Italy (probably at Canosa), the prolific white sakkos painter is recognized in history for his richly decorative style. His pieces’ recognizable stylistic features identify him, including female figures wearing white sakkos. This hair accessory covers the entire scalp as a sack made of various materials such as silk or wool.

The piece on display at the Cesianu-Racoviță Palace, with an exceptional level of craftsmanship, is made of beige-reddish ceramic and represents the goddess of victory, Nike, driving the chariot with the four horses of the gods of Greek mythology (known as the Hippoi Athanatoi).

Among the oldest pieces of the exhibition, in a good state of preservation, the selection of ancient ceramics stands out: a terracotta votive statuette representing the god Dionysos, Greece (Hellenistic period, 4th-1st century BC), a Mycenaean vessel, decorated with geometric elements (12th-11th century BC), but also a drinking vessel from ancient Iran (ca. 1200-1000 BC) and an ancient Hellenistic pyx, decorated with a symbolic representation of Aphroditei-Swan (dating from the 3rd century BC).

The auction exhibition presents pieces of carved linden wood furniture in the Neo-Brâncovenesque style for those looking for old or traditional interior decoration arrangements. One of the most massive pieces of the exhibition is a Neo-Romanian showcase made of carved wood decorated with solar rosettes. For Neo-Romanian decorative art pieces, prices vary between 50 and 500 euros. Among the most coveted pieces are six dowry chests collected from Sibiu, Banat, and Gorj. A rare collector’s item is the Saxon dowry chest, including a drawer from Sibiu, inscribed with the bride’s name and dated 1872, which reached the current price of 700 euros.

From the clothing selection, a superb clothing set with museum value from the Forest Land, Hunedoara, is worth noting, consisting of a shirt with hemp lapels decorated with the tree of life, approx. 1910. In addition, from the same historical period, the exhibition also presents a bridal clothing ensemble with museum value, this time coming from Şicula, Arad, consisting of a spacel, hems decorated with geometric motifs, the flower of life and doves, made of hemp.

Another lot with museum value, from the Mehedinți area, is the ensemble of a wedding lapel shirt decorated with broken embroidery, a wool shawl with metallic thread, velvet, and tulpan. In front of the audience is also an impressive Saxon „post” ensemble consisting of three pieces, ia, fota, sort and bows, dated 1954. In the exhibition, a Saxon cowl made of leather and fur, richly decorated, also appears floral, embroidered with the owner’s initials, dated 1904.

The folk costumes are complemented by a selection of Olten, Bessarabian and Turkish carpets, priced between 250 and 400 euros.

Highly valued in this auction, it is also a superb example of a jewelry piece from the end of the 19th century. In the old days, the „expensive necklace” was made of coral beads – rare and accessible only to the wealthy, standing out as a symbol of financial power. The piece present in the auction is decorated with Mediterranean coral and coins from the royalist period, coming from the Maramureș area. The same category includes a salve of Maria Theresa’s silver thalers, two Franz Joseph coins, and Venetian glass beads from the Transylvania area. 1920.

Pieces of traditional Romanian art, traditional costumes, carpets, dowry boxes, dishes and traditional furniture or unique ornaments can be admired at the Cesianu-Racovița Palace on November 28 and 29, as well as between December 4 and 8, free of charge and without prior appointment.

After a successful debut exhibition, ‘LIGHT: An airy viewpoint of density’ in Bucharest, Diana Nicolaie, designer and visual artist, is exhibiting at the RCI New York alongside Carmen Marin. These two artists, each with their own distinct styles and practices, will engage in a captivating artistic dialogue through a mesmerizing showcase of art, design and light titled “The Path: Fusion of Two Worlds Inside/Outside.” The grand opening is scheduled for October 26 at 7 p.m. at the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York, in Manhattan, at 200 East 38th Street. The exhibition is realized in partnership with Art Safari Bucharest and is open for visitors until November 10th.

Diana Nicolaie presents a selection of eight mixed media art pieces that vividly illustrate the symbols of light – Life, Divinity, Hope, Truth, Celebration, Purity, Guidance and Knowledge. In white tones, seamlessly blend painting, structural elements and light, all enhanced by a unique olfactory experience.

In the year 2023, I’ve realized that anything is possible. After years of dedicated work, I found the courage to step into the art world, and now I have the privilege to share my vision in the city of limitless opportunities—New York. I believe I’m on the right path – My Path, The Path. It’s an honour to embark on this journey alongside an established artist, Carmen Marin, whom I deeply admire. Our distinct styles and techniques converge under the curatorial concept of Ioana Ciocan.
Diana Nicolaie, Romanian artist

Diana Nicolaie, Romanian artist

Diana Nicolaie recently designed the exhibition from the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, “Bags: Inside Out,” at Art Safari Bucharest. Diana creates distinctive, monumental pieces and proper installations on canvas. Diana Nicolaie’s art is based on the play with varied shapes and textures, solid volumes and mixed techniques. The visual artist uses the play of lights and shadows as an open invitation to the viewer to enter her artistic universe.

I believe light is the unifying force that harmonizes perspectives, emotions and disparate worlds, guiding the viewer toward introspection. Light converges various viewpoints on what we feel and experience, transforming a moment, an emotion, or an image into a unique and defining encounter. My works aim to capture the artful fusion of sculpture and painting in conveying a message through light. Light remains a constant presence while we interpret images, textures, and ideas differently. The element breathes life and emotion into an image defined by shadows and colours.
Diana Nicolaie

Carmen Marin presents a collection of six paintings that adopt a surrealist approach, delving into the realms of dreams, the unconscious and the ever-evolving socio-cultural phenomena. Central themes of existentialism and postmodernism have pervaded her semi-figurative paintings since 2020. Drawing inspiration from the visual vocabulary of modernist and contemporary masters like Joan Mitchell, Georg Baselitz, or Kiki Smith, Carmen Marin approaches each canvas with an original perspective, delving into both the visual and human condition in an ongoing journey of reinvention.

Carmen Marin, Romanian artist

Carmen Marin was involved in preparing the “Pain Memorial” exhibition in Sighet, and she got her first international recognition in 2004 when she won the Art Prize at a salon organized in Lausanne, Switzerland. She collaborated with several European art galleries in Greece, Spain, Germany, Finland, Norway, Ukraine, Italy and the USA throughout her career.

As Jean-Paul Sartre famously said, ‘Each man must invent his own way.’ Every exhibition is unique and has its poetic nature. It is up to the viewers to create their poems and leave a message behind them. We are all on a mission! I believe that the canvas surface has the potential to manifest the interconnected aspects of our perception of the world, transcending the linguistic multivocality of figuration and abstraction, organic and inorganic, self and other. Although polysemy is an essential starting point for understanding and rationalizing our realities, it is necessary to transcend the limitations of this logic. Painting is a means of achieving this goal.
Carmen Marin, Romanian artist

Ioana Ciocan is the Commissioner of Romania at the Venice Biennale and a member of the scientific council of the Cotroceni National Museum. In 2023, she was honoured with the Eisenhower Fellowship, and in 2021, President Klaus Iohannis of Romania awarded her the “Cultural Merit” Medal for “Plastic Arts.”

The „Picasso Effect” Exhibition can be visited between September 27, 2023, and January 8, 2024, at MARe/Museum of Contemporary Art Bucharest. 46 works (paintings, drawings, engravings) signed by Pablo Picasso are placed face to face with 65 works (paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, graffiti) signed by 37 contemporary Romanian artists, influenced by the work of the most important figure of modern art, Visit Bucharest announces.

Among the Romanian artists exhibited are Ion Grigorescu, Mircea Cantor, Ștefan Bertalan, Alma Redlinger, Neculai Păduraru, Vasile Gorduz, Florin Mitroi, Victor Man, Silvia Radu, Dumitru Gorzo.
The 46 works wandered along beaten paths, from the Musée National Picasso-Paris to Bucharest, for three days and three nights – like a noble wedding.

In the year that marks half a century since Picasso’s physical disappearance, eight countries worldwide, including Romania, celebrate this anniversary through thematic exhibitions. Romania does this at MARe – Museum of Recent Art. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased on the mare.ro website.

The „Picasso Effect” is one of the most impressive exhibitions in Eastern Europe and certainly the most important in Romania – among the eight countries participating in the Célébration Picasso: 1973-2023 program.

The event is organized in partnership with the Musée National Picasso-Paris. It celebrates 50 years since the death of Pablo Picasso through a program that includes 42 other museums worldwide. Romania is the only country in Central and Eastern Europe included in the large project launched by France and Spain.

World Art Day is celebrated worldwide on April 15th. This day reminds everyone that we all need more art in our daily lives.

Each year, on 15 April, UNESCO says that World Art Day celebrations help reinforce the links between artistic creations and society, encourage greater awareness of the diversity of artistic expressions and highlight the contribution of artists to sustainable development. It is also an occasion to shine a light on arts education in schools, as culture can pave the way for inclusive and equitable education.

The celebration of World Art Day is an initiative of the International Art Association within the XVII General Assembly in Guadalajara, Mexico, a day celebrated for the first time in 2012. The date was symbolically chosen to honour the memory of Leonardo da Vinci, a complex sculptor, painter, architect and inventor born on April 15.

Romania is one of the countries where culture is appreciated. Bucharest Art Galleries, always busy with art-loving enthusiasts, are living proof that art is loved in the country. Not only that, but nationwide, people enjoy art, classic or modern.

One of the places where tourists can discover Romanian art is the National Museum of Art in Bucharest, where artworks of famous Romanian painters, such as Nicolae Tonitza or Nicolae Grigorescu, are displayed. But, if you visit Bucharest, just across the street from the Museum of Art, one can discover artworks from international painters at the Cesianu Racovita Palace. Sometimes they display artworks of Dali or Picasso, but all art forms found their home there.

Also, art galleries at the National Military Circle host many creations of Romanian contemporary artists.

Ready to dive into Romanian art and culture? Art galleries, museums, and even street art remind us of the most beautiful connection between our souls and reality. Let’s celebrate it more often, not only on April 15th.

Are you a fan of art and do you wish to collect timeless pieces that will last a lifetime? As announced by Visit Bucharest Today, Auguste Rodin’s “The Kiss” is auctioned in Bucharest.

A version of “The Kiss,” a sculpture by Auguste Rodin, one of the most iconic figures in the history of sculpture, will be auctioned off for the first time ever in Romania at the Spring Auction 2023, which also marks the 500th anniversary of the A10 by Artmark Auction House’s sales. The Kiss, a well-known modern art masterpiece with a starting price of €80,000, is part of a famous Romanian officer’s historical collection from the royal army.

The love story between Paolo Malatesta and Francesca da Rimini, two figures from Dante Alighieri’s “Divine Comedy,” who were discovered kissing by Francesca’s husband, killed, and sentenced to an eternity in hell, served as the inspiration for the creation of one of the most famous sculptures in history.

The French Ministry of Culture commissioned Rodin to create “The Kiss” in marble for the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889 after he had previously tested numerous versions and positions of the topic since 1882. (initially as a relief of the monumental sculpture of the Gates of Hell). With the aid of Emile Leblanc Barbedienne, Rodin subsequently recalibrated the now-famous sculpture in various height variations and cast it in bronze in numerous examples, one of which will be presented in the 2023 Spring Anniversary Auction.

Rodin’s “The Kiss”, source: Artmark

The majority of the pieces are housed in significant museums of art throughout the globe, and some of those that were in private collections were recently auctioned off for hundreds of thousands or even millions of euros. For instance, in 2018, one of the top auction houses in the UK was able to sell a reduced bronze specimen for at least €14 million (thus increasing the value of all other specimens held in private collections). The Auguste Rodin Committee recently issued a certificate of authenticity for the item in Bucharest that is currently up for an auction; it accurately identifies the specimen and states that the find will soon be included in the new edition of the Auguste Rodin Resonated Catalogue (Catalogue Critique de l’oeuvre Sculpté d’Auguste Rodin). The item is currently located in Bucharest and is up for auction.

An important mention must be made of the few private Romanian collections in which important masterpieces of European culture have appeared and, from time to time, despite the fate of the Communist period confiscations, continue to appear, proving the same resilience that only books, characters and ideas have professed. A vision of genius, denoting great culture and refinement – at the time of the acquisition of the work, followed by the exceptional endurance of the collection, first in wartime and then in the frictions of the communist state, and finally a conjuncture of opportunity for the release of the work for sale on the market, briefly describe the three essential moments of an entire century spent in the collection of the family of the officer Nicolae Ionescu, who owned the Rodin sculpture in Bucharest. Colonel Nicolae Ionescu, an officer in the royal army, belonged to a wealthy family from Prahova, who owned vineyards and oil wells in the Prahova Valley (Urlați), related to the Macovei family (owners of vineyards in Odobești) and Constantin Vișoianu (former Romanian Foreign Minister during the Second World War), and probably acquired the sculpture by Rodin between 1906 and 1910. It should be noted that in Romania, bronzes by Rodin, cast by him during his lifetime, rarely appeared in collections, but always in collections of Romanian personalities of the beginning of the century, such as Queen Elisabeta or the politician Ioan Kalinderu (bought by him for the Kalinderu Museum, with the support of the Eustațiadis legacy, today in the collection of the National Museum of Art).

As a corollary to the story of this exceptional exhibition, one might, for example, refer to the Rodin from the collection of Queen Elizabeth, composition in the March 29 auction from the collection of Princess Elizabeth, daughter of Queen Mary and future Queen of Greece: Watercolour „View of Dobrogea” by the artist Cecilia Cuțescu-Storck, bearing the Princess’s cipher on the reverse and which took part in the „Artistic Youth” exhibition in 1916 (starting price €900). As well as, in relation to the Parisian model of our art school, for example, a rare painting signed by Alexandru Ciucurencu, painted by him around 1930, in his first creative youth, when he was studying in Paris with the great modernist Andre Lhote, the original representative of cubism (starting price €12,000).

„The Kiss” is not the only famous sculpture in the March 29 auction. Alongside the work by French master Auguste Rodin, the Spring Auction also features the bronze sculpture „Archer at Rest” by Ion Jalea, with a starting price of €5,000. The original stone version of „The Archer”, sculpted in 1926, is in front of the „Ion Jalea” Museum in Constanța, and another version of the work was bought by the Romanian state and used as a standard-bearer for the main international exhibitions promoting Romanian art, which took place in the 1930s and 1940s in Paris, Barcelona, Oslo, Zurich and Amsterdam.
